ABOUT ME

I am a professional photographer and content creator from Cape Town, South Africa. My love for the outdoors started at a very young age, on our family farm in the Klein Karoo. It is there that I discovered my fascination with vast landscapes and starry night skies, and the history that these landscapes holds. Fast forward to my early twenties where I graduated from Stellenbosch University with an Honors degree in Logistics Management which led me to a career in the wine industry, which lasted about 8 years. During this time I developed a keen interest in outdoor adventure photography, partly because of the rise of Instagram, and I soon found myself studying the art after hours while still maintaining my career in wine. After about 4 years  of pursuing photography as a part time hobby, I soon realised that it was fast becoming my full time focus and it was making me happier than anything ever managed to in the past. The combination of nature with technology, and the mindset of focussing on the positive in the scene I was looking at was something that really appealed to me. This was the lightbulb moment for me, and it was that realisation that led to my transition into doing photography full time.

My love for the outdoors has always been the driving force behind my interest in photography, and I always try to keep my line of work in line with that passion. My aim has always been to showcase South Africa in a way that most might not have seen it before, focussing on wilderness areas and the wild side of urban areas. My goals are to eventually document all of South Africa's national parks and in doing so, promote our country to both local and international tourists. Traveling has always been in my blood too, having travelled extensively as a student, I have found that exploring new places is what keeps me interested in photography, and thus I plan on traveling internationally as much as possible to feed my curiosity.
